Meet the DT

Sue - DT Team lead

I live in a village in Derbyshire in the UK. I've always followed a crafty path even from young when I used to make stuffed toys. I studied art through to exam level at school and then moved on to cross stitch, floristry and even web page design ! My passion for crafting has only gotten stronger over the years and after I was introduced to embossing powder about 12 years ago the rest, as they say, is history. I love nothing more than being elbow deep in paint, ink and embossing paste and very often this is the case !

I live in a Cheshire village on the border of the beautiful Peak District. I've always enjoyed a variety of crafts. I was lucky that as a child my mum taught me how to knit, crochet and embroider. As an adult I've dabbled in projects ranging from home decor to making celebration cakes with wired sugar flowers and it was over 20 years ago when visiting a sugarcraft exhibition that I popped into the hobby one that was next door and was introduced to stamping and heat embossing. I've been hooked ever since. I love stamping, paints, inks and anythings that adds texture to projects....messy is good!

By day, I’m a part-time peripatetic teacher. Although art was my main subject at teacher training college, my teaching career has been largely in the field of Special Education. I now work with visually impaired children and also teach pottery in a primary school.
I have a hard working husband and two grown up sons. Luckily for me, my husband loves nothing more than tinkering about with his various old cars and motorbikes. This means that he doesn’t always notice just how much time I spend in my attic craft room!!
I would describe my style as vintage, grunge with a touch of quirkiness thrown in for good measure! I love altering objects and using recycled materials. My ultimate and never ending delight though, has to be exploring the numerous ways, that a single piece of paper, can be transformed into a thing of beauty, with the ‘simple’ addition of a bit of colour.

Hello There! My name is Rachel Fisher. I am a widowed mum of two beautiful girls aged 7 and 9. I love to craft and have been crafting in one form or another for most of my life. I make cards and 3D items and alter items too. I am influenced by all things Tim Holtz but also love most things painty and inky. Stamps and stencils are two of my most favourite things so I am utterly delighted to be on the design team here and hope that I can bring something useful and interesting to the team.

I am a retired Director of Finance and live with my wonderful husband of 41 years just outside Toronto, Canada. We have one daughter who is married and has blessed us with two fabulous grandchildren.

I have been crafting for as long as I can remember and came by it naturally since my Mother was a very creative person. In our family it must be a genetic thing because both my daughter and granddaughter are creative. I have done counted cross stitch and dried flower arranging in the past - heck, I even did macramé at one time :) I started card making around 2006 but really just dabbled at it until 2009 when my job disappeared and then I had lots of time to play. As time went on I started to make more vintage and shabby chic cards and was hooked. In the past couple of year I have added more mixed media to my repertoire.

I don’t go to the gym because in truth I hate to exercise but I do walk a couple of miles every day. I love to read crime mysteries, am a good cook (according to others and my waistline) and like a variety of music styles, especially jazz. I hate gardening but do it because I also hate weeds. I love to travel and still have a few places on my bucket list.

 Lula

My name is Lucyna Marynowska, aka Lula. I come from the north of Poland. Fifty-nine, retired widow, mum of two grown up boys and a happy grandma. I started my crafting journey 7 years ago as a card maker and immediately became an addicted paper-lover. After my husband's death it was crafting what helped me to conquer the pain. I enjoy creating anything from cards to altered art.
I love to experiment with various types of mediums and I am always happy to be involved in creative upcycling. I love challenges to spark my creativity and making crafty friends all over the world makes me very happy.
You can find my creative project on my blog: http://ululi.blogspot.com/
